The Grand Canyon

On Friday April 1, we decided that we would head out for the Grand Canyon in the morning. We were making final reservations that evening at 11 pm. We woke up Saturday and headed out for the 11 1/2 hour drive. As we arrived at the Grand Canyon, it was sunset! I had to stop to get a picture because it was so pretty! As we were driving through the canyon towards our hotel, it became dark quickly and we noticed this sign. Emily didn't see it but when one of us commented on it, she didn't believe that we saw a 'mountain lion' crossing sign. We kept teasing her, saying "oh, look... there's one over there" or something similar and she was so freaked out. On the way out of the canyon, I had to be sure to get a picture of the sign that caused her such stress!
My 6 beauties loaded up and ready to go! (actually, I think we were just getting out somewhere since Jace is out of his car seat)
Stopped for a photo and the Grand Canyon sign.
It was SO windy!!

Baylie got tired and Lindsay was so sweet to give her a piggy-back-ride!

Here's where we almost lost Kenna! Thank goodness Lindsay was there to help her back up - It was great posing on their parts, but I love that Kenna has the look on her face like something is really wrong!
Emily up on a rock!

It really is a magnificent sight!

Lot's of '1..2...3...wheee' for Baylie and Jace on this trip!
Baylie getting a closer look at the canyon bottom.

Lots of walking.......
and tree climbing.... they thought they had to climb the trees and yell for their pictures to be taken

It was a great spontaneous trip and I'm so glad we had the opportunity to go! At one point on the way home, it wasn't so great -
The nice police officer in Northern Arizona had Chris get out of the car to explain the ticket to him. He also told him that he only charged him for going 75 in a 65 instead of the real 82 mph he was going. Me and girls thought it would be so funny to snap a picture while he was out with the police officer....... one day he'll look back on this and laugh! The Grand Canyon was a beautiful place, the sights were breath taking. The kids travel in the car so well that it's fun to be able to go to places that we haven't before. What a great 4 days we had!!
