Royal Lahaina Luau

We hadn't originally intended to go to a luau while we there as we know from past experience how expensive they are.  Luckily, Chris found a great deal on this one where the kids went free! It was much more laid back than the last luau we went to and much better food!
Before we went into the luau, there were tables set up where people were selling their woodcarvings, crafts and lei's.  I found a little tiki that I bought for Chris.

As we entered the luau, we were escorted to our table

They have a pig ceremony where they invite the guests to come watch as they pull the pig from the ground where it has been cooking all day long

Then, they take it up on the stage for all to see.....

While they are preparing the pork, they invite the guests to come up on the stage and learn to 'hula'  Emily had said that she would go, but then no one wanted to go with her so I told her I would and at that point, Ali decided to come too

Learning some moves...........

After the delicious Kahlua pork, it was time for the show to begin!  Jace and Baylie found a comfy spot on dad's lap

Let the show begin....

The 'fire dancers' were among the favorite of the night!

And I must put this picture in, this was Lindsay's 18th birthday - I found the cutest luau dancer before the luau began and literally dragged her to him to get a picture with him.  She loves it now as it's her facebook profile picture! Isn't he cute?

After the luau, all the dancers make themselves available to take pictures with the audience. Chris, Baylie, Kenna, Jace and Ali took advantage of a cute girl dancer!

I'm so glad we were able to attend a luau as they really are a fun experience!  We had a great evening and enjoyed the show, the food and especially being together!

  1. That looks like so much fun! So great that the kids were free! Lindsay and the cute luau guy make a cute couple don't they? Great job to you learning the hula! You guys look cute up on stage. It looks so warm and perfect there. Wish I could have some of that pork!
