Have you ever seen this?

Apparently on the first day of fall, you can make an egg stand up. Yesterday afternoon, Lindsay and her friend, Avery, did just that. It was pretty cool, they used salt to help. I have heard this before but had never seen it. It has something to do with the atmospheric equalibrium or something. We left the egg up and sure enough, it had fallen down when we got up this morning. It is supposed to only work that one day of the year! So next year, give it a try :

  1. Hey Debi, I sort of followed you through a thread comment you made on the Kitchen concoctions blog through Making Life Sweet. Former Utah-an and sheer LOVER of all things Cafe Rio, I almost died when I saw the recipe...then I read your comment about cooking the pork roast in coke and then adding the other ingredients. This sounded like it would be good, but I just thought I would drop you a line and ask how you do that. Do you cook the roast all day in the coke and add the other stuff like an hour prior...or do you throw everything in together to let it cook? Just wondering...my mouth is watering just thinking about it! Drop me a line if you can...thanks so much!

  2. This post was a crackup. I will have to try next year:) As for Justin's cake, I bought a mold for it at the store. If you want to borrow it, you are more then welcome to. I even have the cake tips you could use for the white part and grass as well. It was honestly the easiest cake I have ever made. I am going to use the mold around Easter time as well and make it look like an Easter Egg:)
